Learn all the skills needed to create a strong, durable, and precisely shaped axe with this two-day class. Use a traditional coal forge, hammer, and anvil to create your own small camp axe.
By using upcycled materials, you will learn how to punch and drift the eye (the hole at the top of the axe), forge the profile, and shape the contours of the axe blade. Lastly, you will grind the axe blade to shape, harden, and temper the edge for good durability. Time permitting, we will properly shape and fit a handle for superior performance and longevity. All tools and materials will be provided.
This class is for individuals ages 16+.
This is a 2-day workshop. Please be sure you can attend both sessions!
