This is a 5-week class. Please be sure you are available for all five sessions!

Discover the timeless art of blacksmithing in this immersive, hands-on workshop where history meets innovation. Working with traditional coal-fired forges, hammers, and anvils, you’ll learn the foundational techniques of shaping and tempering metal.  

Under expert instruction, you’ll create a series of functional pieces — from S-hooks and wall hooks to a flint striker, cold chisel, fireplace poker, cooking fork, and a candle holder — while mastering essential skills like drawing out, punching, bending, riveting, welding, and hardening.  

Whether you’re a beginner seeking new experiences or wanting to explore the essentials of historic craftsmanship, this class offers a chance to step into the forge and bring history to life. 

Dates: January 26 and February 2, 9, 16, and 23, 2026  (this is a five-class session that meets every Monday)
