Build a timeless piece inspired by the elegance of Shaker design. Shaker craftspeople were ahead of their time in the 19th century, embodying humility and integrity while embracing technical creativity. The furniture they made and sold almost two centuries ago is still popular today, and blends comfortably with a wide range of tastes.
Over two days, you’ll construct a small side table using locally sourced poplar and traditional joinery. Some components are prepped in advance so you can concentrate on precise layout and confident hand-tool skills.
Some previous woodworking experience recommended but not required.
