Bundle up in your scarves and mittens and let’s go on an adventure during one of the most beautiful times of the year. . . stick season! During our winter nature walk we’ll immerse ourselves in the beauty of winter—breathing in the crisp cold air, the quiet stillness of the forest, and the crunching of the forest floor beneath our feet. We’ll be on the lookout for signs of wildlife and reflect on the winter survival strategies that animals use to survive winter’s coldest temperatures such as migration, hibernation, shelter, food, and growing a warm furry coat. Part of our time together will be used to make a simple bird feeder to help provide a little extra nourishment for the birds who choose to stay in Indiana during the cold winter months. All supplies will be provided.
