Jupiter Flights Balloon Festival Morning Event

Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 7 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.:

Tickets are date specific and only valid for the date purchased.

Children under the age of 2 will not need a ticket.

Watch hot air balloons fly in over Conner Prairie from a distance. Pilots will navigate low and slow across the festival grounds, aiming to drop a marker on a designated target as they compete in a Fly on Target race. Some balloons will take off from Conner Prairie before the flight competitions begin.

Morning Activities (included with your ticket):

  • Flight Competitions
  • Barrel Train Ride
  • Yard Games and Sensory Play
  • Ag Adventures Playground
  • Carnival Rides and the Tubing Hill
  • 1859 Balloon Voyage Exhibit (exhibit only, the balloon will not be flying during hot air balloon competitions for the safety of guests and staff)
  • Make & Take Craft Station
  • Face Painting

Set up your chair, grab a coffee, and enjoy the morning fun!

Weather & Balloon Policy:

Hot air balloons are very sensitive to weather—even small shifts in wind, temperature,
or moisture can affect safety. That means balloon activities may be delayed, changed, or canceled due to:

  • Wind (especially above the trees)
  • Rain, storms or lighting within range
  • Changing conditions in the atmosphere

Even if the skies look clear, balloon pilots and safety crews monitor conditions constantly, and may adjust plans in real time.

If weather prevents a launch, the Glow—a signature part of the Jupiter Flights experience— will still take place if conditions are safe. If winds or weather make even that impossible, we’ll shift to a Twinkle, where baskets and burners create a fiery, up-close experience on the ground.

In the event lightning strikes within 10 miles of Conner Prairie, we will temporarily suspend operations and ask all guests to return to their vehicles for their safety or seek shelter at a designated museum location. Conner Prairie’s safety protocols require that we wait a minimum of 20 minutes between the last lightning strike and resumption of activities.

In the event of a cancellation, the amount paid for my ticket will automatically be returned to my account and can be applied towards a future event, daily admission, or membership, and is redeemable by contacting Guest Relations. The value of your tickets will remain on your account through 12/31/2026. Please contact Conner Prairie’s Guest Relations team at [email protected] with questions or requests.
