Timberframing: Building A Garden Shed

DATE: Saturday 11/15/25   TIME: 8:30am - 4:30pm

Walking into a timberframed building is like walking into a giant piece of furniture. Timberframing is a fascinating and ancient technique that relies on timbers joined with wood-to-wood joinery to create a strong and beautiful structure. The process uses half laps, mortice and tenon, and dovetail joints.

During this two-day class, participants will learn basic tool use (using corner chisels, slicks, and boring machines), layout strategy, and joinery. Together, class participants will use their new skills to connect the timbers together and create a small garden shed. The frame will be available for sale after the class. All tools and materials will be provided.

This class is for individuals 14+. Anyone under the age of 16 must register with an adult.
